The Sundarban Hilsa Festival 2026 is a special seasonal celebration of Bengal’s favorite fish—Ilish (Hilsa)—set in the heart of the beautiful Sundarbans. Organized by Sundarban Boat Safari, this event combines nature, culture, and delicious cuisine into a single unforgettable experience. The festival is held during the monsoon season when fresh Hilsa is at its best.

Our tour includes everything—pickup from Canning, river cruise, forest safari, cultural programs, hotel stay, and of course, mouth-watering Hilsa dishes served fresh on the boat and in the hotel. Guests will enjoy specially curated Hilsa meals like Bhapa Ilish, Ilish Pulao, and Doi Ilish prepared by expert local chefs.

Tour itenerary

সকাল থেকে ক্যানিং বা সোনাখালী থেকে বোটে যাত্রা শুরু হবে। এরপর গোসাবা, হ্যামিলটন সাহেবের বাংলো, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের বেকন বাংলো, গোসাবা আইল্যান্ড ও বাবা লোকনাথ মন্দির দর্শন করা হবে। সন্ধ্যায় পাখীরালয়ে হোটেল / লঞ্চে রাত্রিযাপন।

The journey starts from Canning or Sonakhali by boat/launch. Guests will visit Gosaba, Hamilton Sahib’s Bungalow, Rabindranath Tagore’s Bungalow (Bacon Bungalow), Gosaba Island, and Baba Loknath Temple. Overnight stay at Pakhiralay in hotel / launch.

সকালে সুন্দরবনের জঙ্গল সাফারি শুরু হবে। ঘুরে দেখবেন সজনেখালি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার, ম্যানগ্রোভ ইন্টারপ্রিটেশন সেন্টার, বনবিবি মন্দির, কুমির পুকুর, কামট পুকুর, সুধন্যখালি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার, পীরখালি, গাজিখালি, বনবিবি ভারাণি, দেউল ভারাণি, পঞ্চমুখানি ও দোবাঁকি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার। রাত্রিযাপন পাখীরালয়ে।

The second day begins with Sundarban jungle safari. Guests will visit Sajnekhali Watch Tower, Mangrove Interpretation Center, Bonbibi Temple, Crocodile Pond, Turtle Pond, Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower, Pirkhali, Gazikhali, Bonbibi Bharani, Deul Bharani, Panchamukhani, and Dobanki Watch Tower. Overnight stay at Pakhiralay hotel / launch.

সকালে বনবিবি মন্দির দর্শন ও স্থানীয় গ্রাম ও বাজার পরিদর্শন করা হবে। এরপর সোনাখালী ফিরে ট্যুর সমাপ্ত হবে।

On the final day, guests will visit Bonbibi Temple, local village markets, and nearby rural areas before returning to Sonakhali.

    Morning: Welcome drinks, biscuits, puri, Kashmiri dum aloo, sweets, tea.

  • ১১টা: চিংড়ি পাকোড়া, চা।
    11 AM: Prawn Pakora, tea.

  • মধ্যাহ্নভোজন: বাসমতী চালের ভাত, ডাল, বেগুনি, ইলিশের তেল, ইলিশ মাছের মাথা দিয়ে কচুর শাক, সরষে ইলিশ ,বাগদা চিংড়ি মালাইকারি চাটনি,পাঁপড়।
    Lunch: Basmati Rice, Dal, Beguni, Hilsa Fish Oil Preparation, Taro Greens with Hilsa Fish Head, Sorshe Hilsa, Bagda Prawn Malaikari, Chutney, Papad.

  • বিকালে: ফল।
    Afternoon: Fruits.

  • সন্ধ্যা: এগ চাউমিন, চা/কফি।
    Evening: Egg chow mein, tea/coffee.

  • নৈশভোজন: জিরা রাইস, ডাল,কাশ্মীরি আলুর দম, খাসির মাংস, স্যালাড।
    Dinner: Jeera Rice, Dal, Kashmiri Aloo Dum, Mutton Curry, Salad.

  • ভোরবেলা: চা/কফি।

  • মধ্যাহ্নভোজন: বাসমতি চালের ভাত, ডাল, আলু ভাজা, পুইং ইলিশ, ইলিশ ভাপা,সরষে ভেটকি, চাটনি।
    Lunch: Basmati Rice, Dal, Fried Potato, Pui Shak with Hilsa, Bhapa Hilsa, Sorshe Vetki, Chutney, Papad.

  • সন্ধ্যা: চিকেন পকোড়া, চা/ কফি।
    Evening: Chicken pakora, tea/coffee.

  • নৈশভোজন: ফ্রায়েড রাইস, সবজি, চিলি চিকেন, স্যালাড।

While we cover most expenses, certain items are not included in the package. Guests will need to bear personal expenses, such as coolie/porter charges, camera/video charges inside watch towers, and any additional snacks or drinks beyond the meal plan. Hard drinks, soft drinks, and bottled water are also excluded. Any medical expenses, emergency transportation, or items not mentioned in the inclusions are to be paid separately. Pickup from Kolkata or other locations outside Canning can be arranged at extra cost. Please carry your valid ID proof, as it is mandatory for forest entry.
